Bandol is situated in Provence on the south coast of France, about 20 minutes drive from Toulon or 50 minutes from Marseilles. It is a medium-sized town, known for the good rosé and white wines produced in the area. It is popular with holiday makers of all nationalities, and full of character with good bathing beaches, wind surfing, yachting, shops & restaurants; its eating facilities are good and varied. A fruit, vegetable, and fish market is held daily in the square below the Church, off the sea front. Every Tuesday morning a big general market is held along the Promenade, and the town has a wide range of small shops and mini-markets. There is a large supermarket on the outskirts. Avignon, Aries, Aix-en-Provence and The Camargue are within easy reach.
